İçmeler sits just 8 kilometres from Marmaris, connected by a coastal road and regular dolmuş services. It offers a perfect compromise — access to all of Marmaris's facilities in the evening, combined with a quieter, more relaxed beach atmosphere during the day. It is particularly popular with British and German visitors.
İçmeler is approximately 95–108 kilometres from Dalaman Airport — very similar to Marmaris, as they are virtually adjacent. The journey takes around 80 to 100 minutes by private transfer.
The beach at İçmeler is a curved bay of dark sand, backed by pine-covered mountains. The water is clean and calm, and the beach is well-organised with sun loungers, parasols, and water sports facilities. It is noticeably less crowded than Marmaris town beach.
The bay at İçmeler benefits from slightly clearer water than Marmaris town due to its more sheltered position. Snorkelling along the rocky outcrops at either end of the bay reveals a variety of marine life.
İçmeler's promenade is lined with restaurants, cafes, and bars — relaxed but with good quality. The choice is more limited than Marmaris but the atmosphere is considerably more peaceful.
